Homework 4 - Personal website or portfolio
Overview: For this assignment you’ll create a basic personal website or portfolio for your visualization work. This is your chance to set yourself up for future success by advertising your best work and helping others to find you. You’re not required to publish it, but you are welcome and encouraged to!
Requirements:
Create a single page website using either Quarto (recommended) or HTML.
- For this assignment we’ll relax the strict requirement that the site needs to be self contained; if you have an existing personal site that you update with the remaining requirements, you are free to use that as well.
The website should include at least a paragraph of text introducing yourself and your professional interests.
Include at least one photo, either of yourself or a virtual avatar of some kind. (This is acceptable to AI generate).
The website should include your contact information (this can be fake).
Include at least one data visualization that teaches the reader something about you.
For example, this could be a timeline of technical skills you’ve developed, a map of places you’ve lived, a visualization of courses you’ve taken in different subjects and so on.
It’s totally fine to fake the data here if you’d like to create a particular visualization, but don’t want to share those details of your life.
Include a descriptive caption explaining the context and purpose of your visualization.
Not required: feel free to include links to any other projects you’ve done, visualizations you’ve made or anything else you’d like to showcase!
